First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a new approach for treating severe bedsores (pressure injuries) in patients aged 55 and older. The treatment combined ultrasonic debridement (using sound waves to clean the wound) with photon therapy (light treatment) plus standard wound care. Out of 118 participants, those receiving the combination therapy showed better healing and less pain compared to standard care alone.
