First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests a new type of CT scanner (photon counting CT) that provides extra color-like information to doctors. About 1,000 people suspected of having lung cancer will be scanned, and doctors will either see the extra information or not. The goal is to see if the extra details reduce the need for follow-up tests and improve accuracy in staging the cancer. Researchers will also compare this new method with standard CT and PET scans.
