Phosphorus pills studied in anorexic teens: hormone clues found
NCT ID NCT02812134
First seen May 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explored how oral phosphorus supplements change levels of a hormone called FGF23 in 30 undernourished adolescents with anorexia. FGF23 helps control phosphate and calcium in the body. The goal was to understand the hormone's role during refeeding, not to treat the eating disorder itself.
