First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests a new liquid (PHIL™) injected into an artery in the brain to treat chronic subdural hematoma, a condition where blood collects between the brain and its outer covering. About 475 adults with this condition will be randomly assigned to either standard surgery or the new liquid treatment. The goal is to see if the liquid can safely stop the bleeding and avoid the need for surgery.
