First seen Jun 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This early-phase study tested whether phenserine, a new drug, could help people with early or mild Alzheimer's disease. Sixteen participants took either phenserine or the standard drug donepezil for 8 weeks. Researchers measured blood markers of cell death, brain cell health, and inflammation to see if phenserine works differently than donepezil.
