Virus cocktail vs. staph: new hope for diabetic foot wounds?
NCT ID NCT02664740
First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding a special virus cocktail (phage therapy) to standard wound care helps heal diabetic foot ulcers infected with staph bacteria. About 60 adults with diabetes and a foot wound that has not healed for over 2 weeks will take part. The main goal is to see if the wound shrinks more with phage therapy than with a placebo after 12 weeks.
