New scan method may predict esophageal cancer treatment success
NCT ID NCT04359732
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a special type of scan (PET/MRI) can predict how well esophageal cancer responds to chemotherapy and radiation given before surgery. About 121 adults with esophageal or stomach-junction cancer will be scanned before, during, and after treatment. The goal is to find imaging markers that tell doctors early on if the cancer is shrinking, which could help personalize care.
