Scientists use new tracer to spy on brain inflammation in Alzheimer's

NCT ID NCT07169630

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This study tests a new imaging method to see if a brain enzyme linked to inflammation is more active in people with Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment. Researchers will compare brain scans from 90 volunteers (patients and healthy older adults) using a special radioactive tracer. The goal is to better understand how inflammation contributes to these conditions, not to provide treatment.
