Summary

This large national study is testing if customizing blood thinner treatment after hip or knee replacement surgery is safer and more effective than the current standard approach. Researchers will assign over 10,000 patients to receive shorter, longer, or standard treatment based on their personal risk of developing dangerous blood clots. The goal is to prevent clots in high-risk patients while reducing unnecessary bleeding risks in low-risk patients, using questionnaires to track outcomes without extra hospital visits.
