First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving a single dose of pregabalin before kidney stone surgery could lower pain and reduce the need for opioid painkillers afterward. About 118 adults having ureteroscopy with a ureteral stent were randomly given either pregabalin or a placebo. The main goal was to see if pregabalin helped with pain and cut down on opioid prescriptions.
