Summary
This study tests whether a numbing injection called a PENG block can reduce inflammation and pain in older adults having hip replacement surgery. Sixty patients will receive either the numbing drug ropivacaine or a placebo (salt water) after spinal anesthesia. The goal is to see if the block lowers the body's stress response to surgery.
