New combo targets sarcoma in limbs
NCT ID NCT04332874
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether combining the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab with chemotherapy drugs (melphalan and dactinomycin) delivered directly to the affected limb via isolated limb infusion can safely delay cancer growth. It enrolls 30 patients aged 12 and older with advanced sarcoma in an arm or leg. The goal is to see if the disease stays stable for at least 6 months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
pembrolizumab, melphalan, dactinomycin
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could delay cancer progression in the affected limb, offering a new option for patients with advanced sarcoma.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial (30 participants) focused on safety and progression delay, not a cure. Side effects from chemotherapy and immunotherapy may occur.
