Protein clues may unlock early PCOS warning

NCT ID NCT06793098

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at three proteins in the blood—kisspeptin, ghrelin, and zonulin—to see if they can serve as early warning signs for insulin resistance in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Researchers will compare protein levels among 100 women aged 18-45: those with PCOS and insulin resistance, those with PCOS but no insulin resistance, and those without PCOS. The goal is to find simple markers that could help catch metabolic problems sooner.
