PCOS brain scans reveal hidden clues
NCT ID NCT03043924
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study used advanced MRI scans to look at the hypothalamus, a brain region that controls hormones, in women with PCOS. Researchers compared 52 women with and without PCOS to see if there were differences in brain structure and chemistry. The goal was to better understand how PCOS affects the brain, not to test a treatment.
