NCT ID NCT04965766
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This Phase 2 trial tests a drug called patritumab deruxtecan in people with advanced hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer that has stopped responding to hormone therapy and chemotherapy. The drug is designed to seek out and destroy cancer cells that have a protein called HER3 on their surface. About 139 participants will receive the drug every three weeks. Researchers will track how many patients' tumors shrink and study which patients benefit most.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- patritumab deruxtecan (U3-1402)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced breast cancer that has stopped responding to hormone therapy and chemotherapy.
- What could go wrong
- This is a Phase 2 trial, so it is still early. The drug may not shrink tumors in enough patients, and side effects could be serious. Results may not apply to all breast cancer types.
