Four-Minute videos could transform anorexia care for teens

NCT ID NCT07566546

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a series of four short educational videos (each under 7 minutes) can help parents of adolescents with anorexia feel more confident and less stressed. About 50 parent-teen pairs will either receive standard care or standard care plus the videos. Researchers will measure if parents find the videos useful and if teens show improvement in eating disorder symptoms after three months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Parent Educational Videos (behavioral intervention)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide a simple, low-cost tool to help parents support their child's recovery from anorexia.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early feasibility study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply widely. The videos are added to usual care, so any improvement may be small.
