Rare skin complication in dermatomyositis gets a closer look

This study aims to describe a rare condition called panniculitis (inflammation of the fat under the skin) in people with dermatomyositis. Researchers will examine 20 participants aged 1 year and older to identify unique clinical and microscopic features. The goal is to better distinguish this condition from other causes of panniculitis, such as lupus, since no standard diagnosis or treatment guidelines currently exist.
