First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested two ways to add palliative care (comfort-focused care) for people with end stage liver disease. One group had direct access to a palliative care specialist, while the other saw a liver doctor specially trained in palliative care. The main goal was to see if either approach improved quality of life more. Over 1,400 adults from 19 US medical centers took part.
