Eye drops may ease pain in second cataract surgery
NCT ID NCT07291089
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether anti-inflammatory eye drops (pranoprofen or prednisolone acetate) can reduce pain during second-eye cataract surgery compared to standard lubricating drops. 126 adults aged 50 and older who had already had one cataract surgery received the drops before their second surgery. The main goal was to see how many people reported significant pain (score 3 or higher on a 0-10 scale) within an hour after surgery.
