First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested whether anti-inflammatory eye drops (pranoprofen or prednisolone acetate) can reduce pain during second-eye cataract surgery compared to standard lubricating drops. 126 adults aged 50 and older who had already had one cataract surgery took part. The drops were given four times before surgery, and pain was measured using a 0-10 scale. The goal was to find a simple way to make the second surgery more comfortable.
