New drug combo aims to ease pain and speed healing after Weight-Loss surgery
NCT ID NCT07073846
Summary
This study is testing whether giving a combination of two existing drugs (lidocaine and dexmedetomidine) during weight-loss surgery can better reduce pain, inflammation, and body stress in the first day after the operation. Researchers will compare the combination against each drug alone and a placebo in 104 adults having laparoscopic bariatric surgery. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to less patient-reported pain and lower levels of specific stress markers in the blood.
