NCT ID NCT06063603
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tested a pain management program for cancer survivors living in rural areas or of Hispanic background. The program included acupuncture, cognitive behavior therapy, educational materials, and a pain clinic referral. The goal was to see if the program was feasible and acceptable to participants, with the hope of running a larger future trial.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Acupuncture, cognitive behavior therapy, educational materials, and pain clinic referral
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a larger trial testing a practical pain management program that helps rural and Hispanic cancer survivors better control their pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 51 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The program combines several approaches, making it hard to know which part works best.
