Jaw pain study: teaching patients about pain may double benefits of physical therapy
NCT ID NCT07147764
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding pain neuroscience education (PNE) to standard physiotherapy helps people with chronic jaw pain more than physiotherapy alone. 36 adults with temporomandibular disorder (TMD) will be randomly assigned to either physiotherapy only or physiotherapy plus PNE. The goal is to see if PNE reduces pain, improves daily function, and boosts psychological well-being.
