New study explores gentler pain control for kids with broken wrists

NCT ID NCT07120763

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether children with a broken wrist can get effective pain relief during fracture realignment using a numbing injection (hematoma block) plus either a tiny dose of ketamine or a nasal spray (fentanyl), instead of the usual full sedation. About 50 children aged 3 to 17 will take part. The goal is to see if these simpler methods control pain just as well and keep patients satisfied.
