Scientists map how 'Love Hormone' changes pain sensation

NCT ID NCT05929339

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the hormone oxytocin affects pain when given through an IV. Researchers tested 25 healthy volunteers and people with knee arthritis by applying heat to their skin and measuring pain levels before, during, and after receiving oxytocin. The goal was to create a detailed model showing how the body processes oxytocin and how it changes pain perception over time.
