Brain hormone tested as potential pain reliever

NCT ID NCT05929339

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the hormone oxytocin affects pain when given through an IV. Researchers tested it on healthy volunteers and people with knee arthritis by applying heat to the skin and asking them to rate their pain. The goal was to create a model showing how long the pain-relief effects last and how the drug moves through the body.
