Oxygen monitoring may predict leaky gut after colon cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07099820
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 adults having laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer to see if oxygen delivery during the operation is linked to a serious complication called anastomotic leak (a gap where the bowel is reconnected). Researchers used a non-invasive device to measure oxygen delivery continuously. The goal was to understand if low oxygen levels increase leak risk, which could help guide future care.
