First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at whether older adults with mild thinking or memory problems are more likely to become confused after planned hip replacement surgery. About 400 people aged 65 and older will take a short thinking test before surgery and be checked for confusion for three days after. The goal is to see if a simple test can help doctors identify those at higher risk, so they can provide better care.
