First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested a new surgical method to repair a common complication after cleft palate surgery: a hole (fistula) in the roof of the mouth. 36 patients were split into two groups: one received standard two-layer closure, the other had an extra layer of fat graft placed between the layers. The goal was to see if the fat graft improved wound healing and reduced the chance of the hole coming back.
