First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a targeted chemoradiotherapy can completely eliminate early-stage rectal cancer, allowing patients to avoid surgery and keep their rectum. 90 adults with small, localized tumors will either receive standard surgery or the new treatment followed by close monitoring. The goal is to see if the cancer stays away for at least one year without needing an operation.
