This study tests whether a special MRI-guided radiation machine (MR-linac) can deliver high-dose radiation precisely to rectal tumors, allowing patients to avoid surgical removal of the rectum. About 100 people with early-stage rectal cancer will receive this radiation along with standard chemotherapy.
