Sugar water may beat clear liquids for pancreatitis recovery
NCT ID NCT07375186
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tests whether a simple sugar solution (10% dextrose in water) is better than a clear liquid diet for starting oral feeding in people with mild to moderate acute pancreatitis. About 276 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two drinks. The goal is to see which approach causes fewer feeding problems like pain or vomiting, and whether it shortens hospital stays.
