Buttock injection may be as good as belly shot for breast cancer hormone therapy

NCT ID NCT07460752

First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving the drug goserelin as a shot in the upper buttock works as well as giving it in the belly to suppress ovarian function in premenopausal women with hormone-positive breast cancer. About 98 women who are already on monthly belly injections will switch to buttock injections for 6 months. The goal is to see if the buttock shot keeps estrogen levels low enough, which helps control the cancer.
