Ultrasound-Guided diuretics may cut postpartum preeclampsia readmissions

NCT ID NCT07167862

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a quick bedside ultrasound can help doctors decide if new mothers with preeclampsia need a diuretic (water pill) to lower their blood pressure. About 96 postpartum patients will be enrolled. The goal is to see if this approach speeds up blood pressure recovery, reduces the need for blood pressure pills at discharge, and lowers hospital readmission rates.
