First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested different amounts of numbing medicine (ropivacaine) and the addition of a steroid (dexamethasone) in a nerve block for hip replacement surgery. 120 adults were randomly assigned to one of four pain block recipes. The goal was to see which combination best delayed the need for strong painkillers and reduced overall opioid use after surgery.
