NCT ID NCT05047731
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether it is safe and helpful to reduce blood pressure medication in frail older adults living in long-term care. Over 500 residents with low blood pressure took part. In one group, doctors and pharmacists slowly lowered their blood pressure pills, while the other group continued usual care. The goal was to see if using less medication could prevent falls, confusion, or other harm without increasing the risk of death or hospital visits.
