First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at 46 people who had a first episode of optic neuritis, an inflammation of the eye nerve. Researchers used MRI to measure the length of the nerve lesion and checked how much nerve tissue was lost in the retina after 12 months. The goal was to see if the MRI measurement could help predict long-term vision problems.
