Groundbreaking study tracks Opioid-Exposed babies for two years

NCT ID NCT03923374

Summary

This study aims to better understand how opioid use disorder during pregnancy affects both mothers and babies over time. Researchers will follow 200 mothers with opioid use disorder and 100 mothers without opioid use, tracking their babies' development for up to two years after birth. The study uses MRIs, blood tests, and developmental assessments to identify factors that might predict which mothers respond poorly to treatment and which babies experience more severe withdrawal symptoms.
