First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a one-day educational workshop for adults with chronic non-cancer pain who take high doses of opioids. The workshop, led by a team of psychologists, pharmacists, and doctors, taught about opioid risks and a pain-management technique called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Researchers wanted to see if the workshop changed patients' attitudes toward reducing opioids and helped them lower their doses safely. The study enrolled 26 participants and measured changes in opioid use and pain levels.
