First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether taking high doses of omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) and vitamin D is safe and can help people with type 1 diabetes keep making some of their own insulin. It included 27 people aged 6 to 65, both newly diagnosed and those living with diabetes for up to 10 years. The main goal was to see if these supplements could slow the loss of insulin production over one year.
