Tiny nerve zap study probes migraine pain mystery

NCT ID NCT06022848

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This small study looked at how occipital nerve stimulation (ONS) changes the way people with chronic migraine or cluster headache feel pain. Researchers used special tests and questionnaires to measure pain markers before and after ONS, and compared results to people having non-painful surgery or healthy volunteers. The goal was to understand how ONS affects pain processing, not to test a new treatment.
