Summary
This pilot study tested whether special magnifying goggles (Frenzel lenses) and a step-by-step diagnostic algorithm help emergency doctors better detect nystagmus—a telltale eye movement—in patients with sudden vertigo. The goal is to improve diagnosis of stroke versus benign inner ear conditions. 120 adults with new-onset vertigo were enrolled. The study focused on feasibility and detection rates, not on treatment outcomes.
