First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 08, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests if a special vacuum dressing (negative pressure wound therapy) can reduce wound problems like infection or reopening after emergency belly surgery. About 720 adults with a large midline incision will be randomly assigned to get either the vacuum dressing or a regular one. The goal is to see if the vacuum dressing leads to fewer complications and better recovery.
