New embryo test may boost IVF success without risky biopsies

NCT ID NCT04339166

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether testing the fluid around embryos (non-invasive chromosome screening, or NICS) can help doctors choose the best embryo for IVF. Over 1,100 couples took part, with women aged 35-42. The goal was to see if adding NICS to standard visual checks leads to more live births and fewer miscarriages compared to visual checks alone.
