First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a new surgical technique for people who have had a leg amputation below or above the knee. The goal is to help them gain better control over their residual limb muscles, restore a sense of where the limb is in space (proprioception), and reverse muscle wasting. The study will enroll 26 adults who already have an amputation and are experiencing pain or skin problems. Researchers will measure changes in muscle size, movement control, and sensation using imaging and physical tests.
