New hope for kids with tough cancers: Two-Step transplant trial

NCT ID NCT01625351

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new two-step stem cell transplant method for children and young adults whose cancers had returned or didn't respond to standard treatments. The goal was to see if this approach, which uses specially processed cells from a partially matched family donor, was safe and could help the patient's immune system recover faster. Researchers also looked at survival rates and complications.
