NCT ID NCT03483337

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing new MRI techniques to get more detailed images of head and neck and thyroid cancers. About 200 adults will have extra MRI scans before, during, or after treatment. The goal is to see if these scans can provide early clues about how well a treatment is working.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
MRI examinations
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to better ways to see how tumors respond to treatment using MRI, helping doctors make more informed decisions.
What could go wrong
This is an early imaging study, not a treatment trial. The new MRI methods may not provide useful information beyond standard scans, and results may not change patient care.
