Experimental brain cancer cocktail tested in first human trial

NCT ID NCT03426891

Summary

This early-stage study tested whether combining two existing cancer drugs (pembrolizumab and vorinostat) with standard chemotherapy and radiation is safe for people newly diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. The trial involved 21 participants to determine the highest dose patients could tolerate without severe side effects. Researchers wanted to see if this four-part combination could better control the cancer than current standard treatments alone.
