New gel could ease radiation mouth pain for cancer patients

Summary
This study tests a special gel and mouthwash (XCM-OM118) in 63 head and neck cancer patients getting radiation, with or without chemo. The goal is to see if it lowers the chance of severe mouth sores (grade 3-4) and improves quality of life. Patients use the product during radiation and later for one month, reporting their symptoms through questionnaires.
