Scientists test 'Living Medicine' made from Patient's own cells to fight liver failure

NCT ID NCT06823713

Summary

This is the first study in people to test a new personalized cell therapy called RTX001 for advanced liver disease. The therapy is made by collecting a patient's own white blood cells, engineering them in a lab to potentially reduce liver scarring and inflammation, and then returning them to the patient. The study aims to see if this approach is safe and can help improve liver function in up to 30 adults with a recent serious complication from liver cirrhosis.
