Revolutionary scan could spot hidden blood clots before they strike
NCT ID NCT03830320
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new imaging tracer called 64Cu-FBP8 to see if it can safely and accurately detect blood clots throughout the body using a PET-MR scan. Researchers are enrolling 165 healthy volunteers and patients with conditions like atrial fibrillation, COVID-19, or cancer who are at risk for clots. The goal is to develop a non-invasive alternative to current methods for finding dangerous clots, especially in the heart.
